Czech Republic Prague Czech News Welcome to CzechSlovak.com! The purpose of this web site is to offer Americans with Czech or Slovak backgrounds a resource where you can find and share information about the Czech Republic or Slovakia, or find and share information pertaining to Czech and Slovak groups in the US. The founders of this web site (one who is 50% Czech and an American and the other is a Slovak national) understand that some people might not like the lumping of Czech and Slovak together. We are very aware that these are two unique and separate countries but most community groups in the United States seem to be labeled as "Czech" even if the group is made up of both Czechs and Slovaks. We are not trying in any way to promote unifying the two countries. They should be independent and proud to be independent. There are links in the middle of this page and in the left hand column. Our site has Czech and Slovak forums, Czech and Slovak ecards, informational pages and link pages with both Czech and Slovak resources, events pages (we hope you all send us your event details so we can publish them on the site), and an email newsletter that we hope you all sign up for. The newsletter will contain information, news, events, cultural items, recipes, and new resources (all separated by country) on both Czech and Slovak happenings here and abroad. We hope everyone signs up for the newsletter and actively uses the forums.. If you would like us to create a special forum for your group or if you have an idea for a forum topic, please email us and we will set it up. This site is absolutely free and we have put a lot of time and money into creating it. It will be wasted though if we can not get a good population of online Czechs and Slovaks to use it. If you have any suggestions, comments, or questions, please do not hesitate to ask. You can email us at info@czechslovak.com. |
